Eclipse

I'm off to Turkey for the solar eclipse, and other entertainments less spectacular. Back on the 11th.

If I have time, a travel diary and pics will appear on my adventure diary.

I thınk of you constantly, Maureen.

Walter here, checkıng ın from Istanbul, and typıng on a Turkısh keyboard, whıch has ö where a comma should be, and ç ınstead of a full stop. Should there be ırregularıtıesö I trust you wıll understandç

In the last couple weeks I've seen the dervıshes whırl, I've been ın the harem of the Sultan, I've seen the mosaıcs of the Byzantıne emperor. I've flown ın a balloon over (and sometımes through) the moonscape of Cappadocıa. I've seen one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancıent World, the statue of Artemıs at Ephesos. All thıs and a solar eclıpse, too!

If ıt weren't pourıng down raın at the moment, I'd be off doıng somethıng excıtıng ınstead of tryıng to peck my way across thıs &%'+%&&/+ keyboardç

Back soon, everyone.

I'd heard from a sideways source that dm was not long for this planet. A moment of silence, then, for the Genie That Never Quite Was.

I've returned after spending an involuntary night in Chicago, courtesy not of the police but of the Holiday Inn. I have the tail end of a cold and very slight jeg lag, enough to put a gentle veil between myself and the outside world. It isn't a bad way to live, actually.

More as time and energy permit.
