Pages Awayyyy!

I've finished Implied Spaces and delivered it to the publisher.

Hurrah for me!

Though it scarcely makes any difference to my daily routine, as I promptly jumped into the next project.

Which brings me to a sort of useful idea.

It occurs to me that, since at least some folks out there will be offering congratulations (or conceivably condolences) on the delivery of my new novel, you should all do it.

I have no idea how many people read this journal. So if you all post something, I'll know.

So please post. Even if it's to plant a happy face.

Consider this a happy face.

It took me a while to notice the request to post, I've been busy moving this last week (and am now awaiting the resulting back spasms).

So, when does Implied Spaces hit the shelves? March of next year, at a guess?

Congrats Mr. Williams.
Is it being published first in the US or UK?
I loved reading "The Praxis" series early by ordering them from Amozon.uk, but hated paying through the nose for shipping :)

*Switching off Lurking Device*...

We want more stories with Reese in 'em!

(Even if she's quit, settled down and watched herself grow wide as the world with beer and fine cuisine, I'm sure there'd be an exosuit with a bellywheel...)

Hey, Walter,
I've followed your career since I pegged you as a (then) protege of of Roger Zelazny. Of course, you've grown to find your own identity and voice, and while your style has grown to be quite different, it is no less compelling in its own right.

The other primary Zelazny protege that I follow, Steven Brust, has also developed his own voice, and that is a source of some bittersweetness. I really love Brust's stuff but have had to come to grips that Roger is really and truly gone. Damn.

Anyway, as we gamers say,'gratz!

Down from the mountain at last. So there are 59 of you! Now if only each one of you would talk about my work to the next 1000 people that you meet, we might be able to start wagging this here long tail . . .

Implied Spaces doesn't have a UK publisher as yet, or any publisher outside the US. I trust my agent is working on this.

I don't actually know of a firm publication date, but March 2008 seems reasonable.

As for what it's about . . . well, it's tricksy. It takes place in a future full of technological widgetry that I don't think anyone else has yet thought of, and it's full of color, action, romance, poetry, and mordant reflection.

But it's tricksy. Mostly, it's tricksy.

Tricksy is good, except in hobbitses.

Looking forward to it.
