How Much is That in Imperials?

We now have a new interplanetary currency.

It's called the Quasi Universal Intergalactic Denomination, or Quid.

Here's the story.

He thinks radiation damaging magnetic strips will be a problem???

If you've got enough ionizing radiation to fry the mag stripe on your credit card, you not only won't have children, you probably won't make it back to earth alive.

Reality check - in any self-contained community in space, payment will be managed electronically. You'd have to worry about physical valuata only when moving between different jurisdictions.

Bah. 'Intergalctic' is unnecessary hyperbole in the acronym, when 'interchange' would have worked as well.

The Brits did the easy stuff. I'm not worried about what sort of coins to put in lunar vending machines, I'm worried about getting back to the moon at all.

First things first. Let's figure out how to get there without spending too many earthly quid, then worry about the small change later.
