About Me
- Name: dubjay
- Location: New Mexico, United States
I'm an author, game designer, black belt, and scuba guy. This is a journal of my confrontations with existence, the life of the writer, and the occasional wicked adverb. There also seems to be a lot about food. Bon appetit.

That is indeed very very wrong, not to mention very very funny.
First I cursed you.
Then I cursed the culture that produced this artifact and the technology that transmitted it to me.
Then I cursed life for having produced man. Then I cursed Earth for having produced life. Then I cursed the laws of physics for having made all of the above possible.
Then I cursed math.
Then I made my wife watch it and I felt much, much better.
For anyone lacking the context (as I was), here it is.
There is a legendary Central Park show, ca. 1973/4, for which B&S were the opening act of a three-performer bill.
Anne Murray was the closing act.
And in the middle was a guy from NJ who had just released his first album. (His second would come out on 11 September 1973, but I don't blame The Wild, the Innocent, and the E Street Shuffle for the coup in Chile.)
The question I have to ask is whether =anyone= on the Welk show actually knew what "One toke over the line" actually meant.
