Master Class
Attention, anyone who's trying to write this stuff!
Connie Willis and I, with the assistance of George R.R. Martin, will be teaching a master class in writing science fiction and fantasy next year in Taos. The workshop will run July 8-21, 2007. Cost including lodging and almost all meals, $2400.00. The class is called Taos Toolbox.
It should be sublime.

Well,I got a fatal login error - probably over the username. So - are there any plans for an intermediate class?
Pat, who's sold a coule of items of glorified fanfic.
Whether we ever run an intermediate class depends on how well the master class does.
But of course you may qualify for the master class, you never know unless you apply.
Hehe, if I was rich and idle, or serious about full-on fantasy or sci-fi writing, I would totally go for this. A writing class taught by my favorite science fiction author? Sign me up!!! Hehe. Would that I had $2400 lying around and were a serious published or semi-published author.
Although I showed early promise as a writer, I unfortunately realized long ago that the writing market was saturated by many would-be Heinleins and Clarkes. Not only that, but it seemed to be a tournament-like economy, where 10% of participants reap huge compensation and rewards while 80% toil in poverty and obscurity. Only a lucky 10% between them survive day-to-day as the literary "middle class". I decided not to be just another wannabe, and instead sought my fortune as a computer guru at a small company (which pays very well on a day to day basis).
