Graphic Plots
The brilliant XKCD provides charts showing time and movement of major characters in Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, Jurassic Park, and other classics.
I sometimes graphically plot the dramatic movements in my stories using differenly-colored pens, but I've never got as elaborate as this.

The ones for "12 Angry Men" and "Primer" are wonderful.
I recommend the latter, btw. Last time I looked, Netflix had it available for instant view online.
Too bad the timeline for LOTR is for the movie version. (easiest check, Saruman and Wormtongue's lines stop at Isengard, and there's no 'Scouring of the Shire').
