Wow. A new low even for Illinois! This is a scandal so unsavory that it's worthy of New Mexico or Louisiana!
Governor Unspellable was planning on selling Barack Obama's seat! (No word on whether it was still attached to Obama at the time.)
Naturally, someone promptly put the seat up for auction on eBay.
Labels: Blagojevich, Obama, senate seat

This is going to be interesting. The bozo in question has been important in the Illinois Democratic Party for quite a while.
You don't suddenly wake up one morning and think: I'm tired of virtue -- this week I'll turn into a monumentally corrupt scumjob.
It's a long-term project of personal invention. Which requires many enablers. Nor is it within the bounds of credibility that a lot of people didn't -know- about it.
The drip-drip-drip of a major scandal could follow; more and more people 'under investigation', who knew what when, and so forth.
Well, it's not exactly news that Illinois politics is corrupt. Chicago politics have reeked since well before Mayor Carter Harrison was gunned down in 1893.
What are we up to now?--- over 60 public figures indicted in the last century, including four governors? From both political parties?
The drip-drip-drip has been more of a torrent for the last a hundred years.
Fortunately Blagojevich was not only criminal, but criminally stupid.
